A moment in our parish history: For the first 43 years of St. Catherine Laboure Mission/Parish Mass was held in the Concord Opera House church which was built in 1900. It was purchased and renovated to become the temporary home for the newly formed church. St. Catherine was established as a mission parish of Queen of the Miraculous Medal Church in Jackson. It was served by the Vincentian priests. The first Mass was celebrated at the Opera House church on May 3, 1953 and the Dedication Mass was celebrated by the Most Reverend Joseph Albers on May 16, 1954. The Opera House was donated back to the Village of Concord after the new church was completed in 1996. The last Mass in the Opera House church was January 7, 1996. This Mass was followed by a procession to the new church for an open house for the parishioners. The first Masses celebrated in the new church on Harmon Avenue took place on the weekend of January 13/14,1996. A community wide open house was held on Sunday February 14, 1996. On Sunday February 18, 1996, the Most Reverend Carl F. Mengeling celebrated the solemn rites of the dedication of a church and consecration of an altar. On Sunday February 14th, 2021 we will mark the 25th anniversary of the solemn dedication of our church at the 10:30 a.m. Mass. More to come…..
The Corporate Communion Mass is an opportunity for Knights and their families to gather and participate in a communal celebration, four times each year. Due to COVID 19, we were unable to have this special celebration in 2020. We are unable to fully participate in Mass, we will lead a Rosary before Mass at 4:30pm. Please join the Knights and their families for this special Rosary and Mass.
